Tog Chöd is a dance with the sword. A powerful dance. A fight against our own negative emotions. Tog Chöd uses the power of anger – to free us from it. To transform it. Tog Chöd cuts away our fears and expectations – and brings us into the present moment. Into our inner strength, into our deep clarity and power.

This Tibetan sword technique brings us directly into the present moment. It takes courage to be in the present moment. Courage and compassion, including for ourselves. The flowing movements of Tog Chöd are determined, powerful and clear. They give us the strength we need to overcome our own negative emotions and to truly get to know and appreciate ourselves.
In addition to compassion, Tog Chöd is based on the traditional Yaman dance as practised in Tibetan monasteries. Tulku Lobsang, a Tibetan physician and Buddhist master with a profound knowledge of the human body and mind, has developed Tog Chöd in such a way that it is adapted to our Western lifestyle and can have the greatest possible effect.
The sword gives us freedom. It symbolises our innate wisdom. With it, we cut off our conceptual mind, our fears and expectations: all the thoughts that prevent us from being truly present. Clear, awake and in deep peace
‘Tog’ is Tibetan for thought, ‘Chöd’ means to cut off.
